Fertility Preservation

Cryopreservation

Preserving your future fertility through advanced egg, sperm, and embryo freezing at Fertilité Fertility Centre.

What is Cryopreservation?

Cryopreservation is the process of cooling and storing cells, tissues, or biological constructs at ultra‑low temperatures (‑196°C) to preserve them for future use. At Fertilité, we specialise in the cryopreservation of eggs (oocytes), sperm, and embryos using advanced vitrification techniques that ensure excellent post‑thaw survival rates.

Who can benefit?

  • Women planning to delay childbearing for personal or professional reasons (social egg freezing).
  • Patients facing cancer treatment, surgery, or other medical therapies that may affect fertility.
  • Men who wish to preserve sperm before vasectomy or due to declining sperm quality.
  • Couples undergoing IVF who wish to store surplus embryos for future cycles.

The Vitrification Advantage

We use ultra‑rapid freezing (vitrification) that prevents ice crystal formation, protecting delicate cell structures. This results in over 90% survival rates for eggs and embryos upon thawing.

What to expect

After an initial consultation, your fertility specialist will outline a tailored plan. Egg freezing involves a 10‑12 day ovarian stimulation cycle, followed by a minor egg retrieval procedure under sedation. Sperm cryopreservation simply requires a semen sample. Embryo freezing occurs during an IVF cycle. Storage is available for many years in our secure, monitored tanks.
