Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery
Dr Gumata is a fellowship‑trained minimally invasive surgeon, specialising in laparoscopic (keyhole) and hysteroscopic procedures. These techniques require only tiny incisions, leading to less post‑operative pain, shorter hospital stays, and quicker return to normal activities compared to traditional open surgery.
Conditions treated surgically
- Endometriosis (excision of lesions)
- Uterine fibroids (myomectomy)
- Endometrial polyps
- Ectopic (tubal) pregnancy
- Tubal ligation reversal
Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy
A laparoscope (telescope) inserted through a small incision in the navel allows visualisation of the pelvic organs. Hysteroscopy examines and treats the inside of the uterine cavity without any abdominal incisions.
Recovery & Results
Most patients go home the same day. Recovery is typically 1‑2 weeks, depending on the procedure. Many of these surgeries significantly improve fertility by restoring normal pelvic anatomy.
