Understanding Semen Analysis
A semen analysis is the cornerstone of male fertility assessment. It evaluates sperm count, motility (movement), morphology (shape), and other parameters. At Fertilité, we perform comprehensive analyses that also include DNA fragmentation testing when indicated.
What we test
- Sperm concentration (count per mL)
- Total motility and progressive motility
- Morphology (percentage of normally shaped sperm)
- Sperm DNA fragmentation index (DFI)

Preparing for the Test
Abstain from ejaculation for 2‑5 days before the test. Avoid alcohol, excessive heat, and illness if possible. The sample is collected privately at our clinic.
